TSI-020401-2012-10 Project co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism as part of the National Plan for Scientific Investigation, Development and Technological Innovation.

The BiscayTIK Foundation participates in the SEED4C "Security Embedded Element and Data Privacy for Cloud" project, where it contributes to an international consortium made up of 18 companies from four countries: Finland, France, Korea and Spain.

SEED4C is a CELTIC PLUS initiative; it works on research projects in the area of telecommunications, new media, future Internet and applications & services focusing on a new "Smart Connected World" paradigm. Seed4C aims to protect identity and data in that world, a key point for the development of new telecommunications and working systems.

Within SEED4C, the BiscayTIK Foundation is a member of the Spanish team made up of the companies Nextel, SQS and IKUSI, and the research centers Asociación Innovalia and Vicomtech. The project’s other international partners are Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France, INRIA, Gemalto, ENSI Bourges and Wallix (France); VTT Technical Research Center, Cygate, Mikkelin Puhelin Oy, Nokia Siemens Networks and Finceptum Oy (Finland); and the Korean company Solacia.

The project’s main goal is to evolve from security in the cloud to the security of the cloud, making the cloud a network of secure elements that can communicate between the different nodes, creating reliable networks. This is the main new feature offered by the project since, at present, everything regarding the security of the services and infrastructure provided in the cloud is based on isolated points of enforcement for security and centralised security policies that are inadequate for multi-tenant cloud architecture.
